The Thirst Zapper is a weapon that first appeared in the Fallout 4 add-on Nuka-World. The Thirst Zapper was added to Fallout 76 with Season 11 Nuka-World on Tour.

Fallout 76:
The Thirst Zapper is a weapon in Fallout 76, introduced in the Nuka-World on Tour update Characteristics The Thirst Zapper is a squirt gun in the shape of a Nuka-Cola bottle. The basic Thirst Zapper has unlimited ammunition, but can be modified to shoot explosive Nuka-Cola bottles. When modified, the gun gains a significant damage buff, but also becomes very slow, becoming roughly equivalent to a black powder pistol. Compared to the pistol, a modified Thirst Zapper deals more damage, and benefits from Demolition Expert regardless of its legendary perks.

Locations
Level 3 prize (6000 Nuka Points) from a Prize Terminal at Nuka Cade. Can be crafted at a weapons workbench.

Legendary effects
Thirst Zapper cannot drop from legendary enemies, events or from Purveyor Murmrgh. The only way to get a legendary Zapper is to modify it at a weapons workbench with legendary modules and legendary cores. Although the Thirst Zapper is considered a ranged weapon, it cannot drop with all the legendary ranged effects. These are the effects it can't be obtained with: Two shot, medic's, quad, Explosive, last shot, rapid (25% faster fire rate) Ghost's, perception, rapid (15% faster reload)

Notes
Although the weapon deals 0 damage, if the player has any damage boosting effects (perks, legendary mods, drinks, chems, etc.) the weapon damage is increased by the same amount as 10mm pistol would be increased, as the weapon uses the same base damage table as the 10mm pistol. Scrapping the weapon grants a 25% chance to learn how to craft it. Thirst Zapper can be used at Nuka-Zapper Race to increase the bottle speed. A Thirst Zapper modified to shoot Nuka-Quantums can have a base damage of over 1,000 per shot with the proper build synergies, effectively turning it into a souped-up black powder pistol.

PC Playstation 4 Xbox One Upon release, the base Thirst Zapper extended its unlimited ammo replenishment perk to any equipped throwable weapons (grenades and mines), allowing unlimited throwable weapons and the duplication of mines.

Behind the scenes
During development, the systems design team attempted to make it so that being shot with water from a Thirst Zapper would replenish the thirst meter of the person being shot. However, there were technical issues with implementing this.

Characteristics:
The Thirst Zapper is a water shooting weapon, in the shape of a Nuka-Cola bottle. This weapon is needed for shorting out Colter's power armor. It can also be used in three of the Nuka-Cade games as the weapon for the Bandit Roundup game, Whac-a-Commie or the Nuka-Zapper Race. The basic Thirst Zapper has unlimited ammunition in a sense, unequipping and re-equipping the Thirst Zapper adds a bottle of ammunition to the Sole Survivor's inventory. Upon re-equipping the Thirst Zapper, they can then fully reload it with a bottle that appears similar to the ammunition produced for modified Thirst Zappers. The weaponized Thirst Zapper, when used in V.A.T.S., will home in on enemies as if it had the missile launcher's targeting computer.

Locations
First obtained during the quest Taken for a Ride. Two can be found inside the Nuka-Cade (respawns after some time away). One can be found in the Secure beverageer lab, next to the Project Cobalt schematics. One can be found in Kiddie Kingdom, on the counter of the Nuka-Zapper Race stand.

Notes
The Thirst Zapper is advertised on billboards in the Commonwealth as a "Nuka Blaster" and would come free with every box of Nuka-Cola purchased. One such billboard is located on the eastern edge of the Red Rocket truck stop. When weaponized with Quantum, the Thirst Zapper can do as much damage as a Fat Man on certain occasions. Regardless of equipped modification, the Thirst Zapper always benefits from Demolition Expert. Despite dealing radiation damage with the Nuka-Cola upgrade, the damage output is not affected by Nuclear Physicist. The Thirst Zapper cannot be stored on a weapon rack. When reloading the Thirst Zapper, the player character pours a bottle of Nuka-Cola into an opening that strongly resembles a bottle opener. The gun has the appearance of a pistol but its damage is not affected by Gunslinger. In survival mode, the ammunition for the Thirst Zapper has a weight of 0.010. Picking up or equipping the Thirst Zapper will add 999 units of ammunition to the player's inventory, for a total weight of 10. This ammunition is not visible in the Pip-Boy and cannot be dropped or transferred.

Bugs
PC In survival mode, after dropping or otherwise removing the Thirst Zapper from your inventory, the ammunition will not be removed, and will continue to take up weight in your inventory. [verified] This can be prevented by firing the gun until you run out of ammunition before dropping or transferring it.
